The Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Meshari Al-Harbi, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, Lina Mariana, and her delegation on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the office of the president at Kuwait University in Sabah Al-Salem University City.
The visit aimed to strengthen joint cultural cooperation and academic relations between Kuwait University and Indonesian universities in the Republic of Indonesia, and to discuss joint academic research opportunities that serve the two countries.
The Acting President of Kuwait University Prof. Al-Harbi received the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the State of Kuwait in the Sabah Al-Salem University City, praising the relationship that brings the two countries together and emphasizing the keenness of Kuwait University on continuing academic cooperation between the two countries, looking forward to further exchange of experiences and culture between universities and educational institutions in the Republic of Indonesia and other countries.
He explained that Kuwait University had previously concluded agreements with universities in the Republic of Indonesia, including the University of Sumatra and the University of Indonesia, which included student scholarships for Indonesian students. In addition to participating in research to benefit from the experts present in institutions of higher education in the Republic of Indonesia in the humanitarian, scientific and medical fields.
The meeting included a discussion of the most important challenges that Indonesian students face in order to address them, and a discussion of the proposal to increase the number of scholarships provided by the university to the Republic of Indonesia.
In conclusion, the delegation of the Republic of Indonesia, represented by Ambassador Lina Mariana, presented a memorial gift to the Acting President of Kuwait University, thanking him for his hospitality and warm reception.
