The Department of Information Sciences at the College of Life Sciences participated in the 9th Arab American Frontiers of Science, Engineering, and Medicine Symposium in Qatar
At the invitation of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, Hamad Bin Khalifa University and Texas A&M University, a group of academic staff members from the Department of Information Sciences at the College of Life Sciences at Kuwait University participated in the 9th Arab American Frontiers of Science, Engineering and Medicine Symposium, which was held in Doha, under the patronage of His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah, presenting their scientific research in the fields of computer information systems.
The Acting Head of the Department of Information Sciences at the College of Life Sciences at Kuwait University, Dr. Zainab Al-Maraj, participated in a lecture on her research in the field of digital accessibility, and a panel discussion on digital inclusion and inclusive design. Dr. Lulwa Al-Sumait and Dr. Dhari Al-Huwail also participated with scientific posters about some of their existing research in the field of information and computer sciences.
In this regard, Dr. Zainab Al-Maraj stated the importance of participating in such scientific events in order to enhance scientific exchange and emphasize on the spirit of cooperation between the Arab and American communities in the various fields of science and interdisciplinary fields.
It is worth noting that the Arab American Frontiers of Science, Engineering, and Medicine Symposium aims to enhance interdisciplinary cooperation between young scientists and researchers, and the State of Kuwait hosted its first edition in 2011. The program also aims to enhance scientific exchange and dialogue between young researchers in Arab countries and the United States. Through this interaction, there is an opportunity to facilitate research cooperation in the Arab region and beyond, with opportunities for financial support for research from the International Foundation for Science, Engineering, Medicine and sponsors.
