The College of Medicine at the Health Sciences Center at Kuwait University organized its orientation meeting for its students and the new students of the Colleges of Dentistry and Pharmacy for the academic year 2023/2024, in the presence of the Acting Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Heba Al-Husseini, and the head of the college’s first phase, Dr. Fawzi Babiker, and employees of the Office of Guidance and Counseling of the three colleges, at the center’s theater at the Jabriya campus.
The Acting Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, Dr. Heba Al-Husseini, welcomed the new students, addressing them as elite high school graduates and calling on them to continue with high spirits and perseverance in acquiring knowledge, especially since they will bear a great responsibility as future doctors, noting that Kuwait University is well prepared to provide academic and psychological support for its students within the framework of providing the appropriate environment for learning, concluding her speech by wishing them good luck and success in their academic journey.
For his part, the mentor of students in the first year, Dr. Fawzi Babiker touched on the introductory materials for students and the university’s system, regulations and laws regarding attendance, acceptable excuses for absence, etc., in addition to the mechanism and method of examinations.
The orientation meeting included field trips for students of the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy to learn about the center’s facilities, classrooms, and laboratories. It was concluded with small meetings for each college separately with the Acting Deans and Vice Deans to answer inquiries related to each college.
