Dr. Musaed Al-Zaid Al-Nasser, a faculty member in the Occupational Therapy Department at the College of Allied Health Sciences participated in the 14th International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics, which was held from 20-24 July 2023 in San Francisco, California, USA.
During the conference, he delivered a scientific lecture in which he presented the results of his latest research. The research was conducted in Kuwait with participations from 98 occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
Dr. Al-Nasser said that this study aimed to assess exposure to physical risk factors for occupational therapists and physiotherapists during treatment sessions and direct interaction with patients, in addition to the pain levels resulting from this activity. He explored the factors that may put the therapist at risk of musculoskeletal disorders related to the nature of their daily work activities during the treatment sessions.
Dr. Musaed Al-Zaid Al-Nasser thanked Kuwait University, especially the research sector, for their cooperation and encouragement to faculty members through funding scientific research and attending conferences.
