Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister - may Allah protect him - and in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Al-Adwani, representing His Highness, and with the support of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), the College of Engineering and Petroleum, represented by the Engineering Training and Alumni Center, held the 44th Engineering Design Exhibition. The exhibition was held from June 21st to June 23rd at the Conference Center in Sabah Al-Salem University City.
The opening ceremony was attended by Her Excellency the Minister of Public Works, Dr. Amani Bogamaz, and the Director General of KFAS, Prof. Amina Rajab Farhan, and Dr. Khawla Al-Shayji. The ceremony was also attended by state leaders, representatives of embassies, university vice presidents and deans, in addition to faculty members from the College of Engineering and Petroleum and representatives of sponsors.
A total of 122 projects from various scientific departments in the College of Engineering and Petroleum are participating in this exhibition, as well as the College of Architecture and the College of Science. Engineers from universities in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries are also participating in this exhibition for the first time under the patronage of the Kuwait Society of Engineers.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Al-Adwani, in his speech on behalf of the patron of the ceremony, the Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, praised the Engineering Design Exhibition. He said that over the years, the exhibition has become a destination for engineers to showcase their creativity. Dr. Al-Adwani called on students and graduates to arm themselves with high scientific, engineering and technical expertise to acquire skills that contribute to building a conscious generation that achieves the desired development.
The Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Fahad Al-Dubais Al-Rashidi, welcomed everyone at Kuwait University to the 44th Engineering Design Exhibition, which is organized by the College of Engineering and Petroleum with the participation of the College of Science and the College of Architecture. He indicated that this exhibition was built by a group of graduates; To display the essence of their minds, beat in their hearts, and describe their joy in their achievement. He emphasized that the College of Engineering and Petroleum is a leading college with its affiliates, members, programs, laboratories, facilities, and teaching methods, and above all, it is a pioneer in the quality of its graduates who were and still are preferred by all employers in the country. Prof. Al-Rashidi expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of this exhibition, especially His Highness the Prime Minister for his patronage and the Minister of Education for attending the design exhibition.
The Acting Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum, Prof. Khaled Al-Hazaa, expressed his happiness to attend the opening of the 44th Engineering Design Exhibition, which continues a 22-year journey of excellence and success since the launch of this exhibition. He expressed his pride in the achievements of Kuwait’s future engineers, and he hopes that they will continue to build and develop our country Kuwait, which provided us and them with all the possibilities and means. Prof. Al-Hazza concluded his speech by extending his thanks to all the sponsors and the attendees.
The Director of the Engineering Training and Alumni Center Dr. Duaij Al-Rukaibi welcomed the guests to the largest engineering gathering that presents 122 distinguished engineering projects. Dr. Al-Rukaibi said that seven different awards are given during the exhibition, the first of which is from KFAS which is concerned with the foundations of engineering design. The other six specialized awards are related to engineering and to the national priorities criteria. He added that this year’s exhibition is hosting more than 17 projects from nine different Gulf universities. Dr. Duaij Al-Rukaibi concluded by expressing his pride in the outstanding graduates of the College of Engineering and Petroleum.
