Dr. Layla Al-Haddad, along with a participating research team, received the International best research award in the field of cancer studies from the ISSN International Awards and Congress 2023-IIRAC for their distinguished scientific research entitled:
Development of nimesulide analogs as a dual inhibitor targeting tubulin and HSP27 for treatment of female cancers.
The research team consisted of Dr. Layla Al-Haddad from the Department of Chemistry at Kuwait University, Prof. Jamal Al-Din Harissa, and Prof. Faris Al-Enezi from King Saud University in Saudi Arabia. They designed chemical compounds that are similar to anti-heartburn drugs.
The research team thanked the research sector at Kuwait University for supporting and financing this project and providing most of the equipment in the laboratories of public facilities projects in the College of Science to help researchers.
