The Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Salman Al-Enzi, received Kuwait University’s debate team delegation. The delegation headed to Istanbul to participate in the 6th International Universities Debating Championship held by QatarDebate Center from 17-22 June 2022. The tournament includes international universities from all around the world.
Dr. El-Enzi emphasized that the Deanship of Students Affairs supports and encourages students to participate in events and activities in different fields, such as the debates championship. He said that he is proud of the students of the debate team and praised their skills in persuasion and dialogue.
Kuwait University’s delegation was led by the General Supervisor of Debates and the team coach Dr. Nawal Al-Kandari, and Supervisor Captain Abdullah Al-Mutairi. The team constituted of 3 students: Khaled Al-Qahtani from the College of Engineering and Petroleum, Maram Al-Ghorba from the College of Medicine, and Raghad Al-Ghasham from the College of Allied Health Medicine.
General Supervisor, Dr. Nawal Al-Kandari, said that the team will compete against nearly 90 international university teams from 50 countries. The competition is held in 3 rounds to reach the semifinals qualifiers, then the final round to qualify to represent Kuwait in the 6th International Universities Debating Championship in Arabic language.
