Under the patronage and presence of the Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Bader Al-Badawi and Vice President for Research Dr. Rashid Al-Enezi, The Research Sector organized a Ceremony to honor the winners of the Distinguished Researcher Award, the Best Young Researcher Award, and the Graduate Students Award for Master’s and Doctoral degrees for the academic year 2021/2020, at the University Council Hall - Khaldiyah Campus.
The ceremony was attended by Assistant Vice President of the University for the Execution and Financing of Research, Dr. Ali Rashid Al-Mutairi, Assistant Vice Pressident for Analysis and Development of Research, Dr. Nouria Al-Kandari, Acting Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Mashari Al-Aifan, and Acting Vice President for Planning, Dr. Muhammad Zainal.
Prof. Al-Badawi congratulated the distinguished winners , wishing them a prosper future with distinguished publications, to achieve professional success as well as contribute to the advancement of Kuwait University and put the State of Kuwait on the global competitive map.
He praised their effective role as thinkers specialized in guiding the new professors joining the university to compete in research.
On his part, Prof. Al-Enezi stressed on the research sector’s keenness to advance scientific research, encourage and support distinguished researchers and benefit from these researches that serve the community, hoping that this research will contribute to the development of our country.
The research awards presented by the sector come as one of the most important incentives that support the distinguished scientific research process, which will raise the status of Kuwait University and its scientific and research classification globally.

Research Excellence Award for Postgraduate Students – PhD degree for the scientific colleges for the academic year 2020/2021 was presented to Noura Mishari Al-Mutairi - Department of Microbiology - College of Medicine.
Research Excellence Award for Postgraduate Students - Master’s Degree for Scientific colleges, was presented to
Maryam Abi Abdoun - Department of Chemistry - College of Science.
Shaima Ahmed Al-Kandari - Department of Applied Pharmacology - College of Pharmacy.
