College of Arts at Kuwait University organized a celebration on the occasion of the college’s winning the first place at the university level in cultural activities for the academic year 2020-2021, as well as the history department’s obtaining the first place in the college’s cultural activities. The celebration was held in building of the College of Arts in Sabah Al-Salem University City - Shedadiya.
On this occasion, Acting Dean of College of Arts, Prof. Abdullah Al-Hajri, stated that the college was the first to organize an international conferences during the pandemic period, under the title (Pandemics through history) during the total lockdown period in the country in April 2020, while the second international conference (Cities and Capitals in the Writings of Travelers Through the Ages)took place last January.
Prof. Al-Hajri indicated that the college won this place by organizing two international conferences with the participation of specialists and researchers from inside and outside Kuwait, in addition to holding 84 cultural activities from various departments of the college during one academic year, praising the efforts of department heads and those in charge of these cultural activities that were held during the academic year, despite the pandemic conditions and using various electronic means of communication.
Prof. Al-Hajri stressed that the college's role is not limited to teaching, but extends to supporting cultural activities and performing its societal role from an academic and cultural standpoint with the efforts of faculty members and specialists from various departments of the college.
For his part, Acting Head of the History Department at College of Arts - Kuwait University, Dr. Khaled Abdul-Malik Al-Nouri, stated that these cultural activities are part of the activities carried out by the scientific departments and result in scientific papers in which faculty members from the Department of History and from outside Kuwait University participate in, and are part of From the message of Kuwait University to the community.
At the end celebration, the coordinators of the schedules of the scientific departments from the History Department were honored.
