Field training for students of College of Engineering and Petroleum with the Construction Program at Kuwait University was launched remotely, during the period from Monday, August 31 to September 16, 2020 in Sabah Al-Salem University City. This field training comes as a continuation of the training program for the academic year 2020/2021, which was suspended due to Covid 19.
In this regard, the field training supervisor in the Construction Program at Kuwait University, Ms. Rima Al-Samsam said: “It is the responsibility of the construction program to provide an opportunity of field training for graduates of the College of Engineering and Petroleum, and its importance in the graduation sheets as a condition for obtaining an academic degree. In light of the circumstances of Coronavirus, the Construction Program has resumed, in an exceptional case, the follow-up of field training for students of the College of Engineering and Petroleum, starting from Monday on August 31 until September 16, 2020.”
Ms. Al-Samsam added that depending on the methodology of adherence to the policy of distance education, by opening the education platform between students and engineers in charge of field training, according to engineering majors (civil, electrical, or industrial engineering), with the aim of supporting students and supporting them to graduate and achieve their scientific ambitions.
The importance of field training for any trainee is to apply practically what they have learned in the classroom. By giving the trainee the opportunity to experience the real work environment, in addition to being able to be familiar with the problems and difficulties surrounding the work sites and how to face them and find appropriate solutions to them.
The Construction Program at Kuwait University is in a position of responsibility for undertaking the tasks of completing Sabah Al-Salem University City. It is considered the appropriate ground for positive participation in field training, as the construction program adopted basic objectives to contribute to the rehabilitation and preparation of practically trained human cadres, by opening channels of cooperation between him and educational institutions, including Kuwait University, and other parties interested in the training nature of their human cadres in the engineering and construction field.
The construction program adopted an integrated training system, starting with selecting and restricting the engineers responsible for field training and coordination with them in proportion to the nature of the field training activity according to a specialized training schedule, and to the end of the evaluation. The trainees will be given a training certificate that would allow them to benefit from in the labor market.
The vision of the Construction Program was based on developing the skills and capabilities of the trainee. Also to gain scientific experience and communicate with others, by giving the trainee the opportunity to see the tools, equipment and supplies found in the work sites for the establishment of Sabah Al-Salem University City.
