College of Social Sciences at Kuwait University inaugurated the 10th Geographical Forum under the tittle "Climate Change and Crisis Management in Natural Disasters"

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Hamid Al-Azmi and the presence of Kuwait University President Prof. Hussein Ahmed Al-Ansari, the Department of Geography at College of Social Sciences opened the 10th Geographical Forum under the title "Climate Change and Natural Disaster Management" on Tuesday 9 April 2019, which is held over two days, with the participation of 18 governmental and private bodies and in the presence of a distinguished number of professors, researchers, experts, specialists and representatives of ministries and bodies.
Prof. Al-Ansari pointed out the forum will discuss important topics, which are of great interest, including climate change in the Gulf countries and adaptation, natural disasters, crisis management and other important topics. He added that the aim of this forum is to present and discuss research and modern applications, exchange experiences and discuss the latest developments in the field of geography and climate change, pointing out that this distinguished presence reflected on the activities of the Forum and is a factor to enrich it and allow participants to benefit more.
Head of the Department of Geography, College of Social Sciences, Prof. Obeid Al-Otaibi stressed on the importance of this forum to attract attention and showcase the specialization of geography as one of the most important disciplines of our time,
adding that climate change is the critical issue that threatens food production and sea level rise, which increases the risk of floods, catastrophic floods and other.
