Dr. Ali Saif Al Nami, Dean of Student Affairs at Kuwait University, stated that the University participated in the eighth sports tournament of universities and institutions of higher education in the GCC states. Al-Nami indicated that KU is proud of its sporting talents that has emerged through the participating students and competitors in all competitions. Dr. Al-Nami extended his appreciation to the Dean of Student Affairs at the General Authority for Applied Education and Training, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee Dr. Hussein Al-Makimi and the organizing committee of the tournament.
For his part, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs for Students Activities, Dr. Thagal Saad Al-Ajmi asserted that the participation of Kuwait University students in the Eighth Sports Tournament came through the formation of teams in various sports and competitions held in the course through Sports Activities Department that improved students’ talents, adding that KU students have won since the first day of their participation in the tournament in shot put and football championships.
It is worth mentioning that student Hussein Mahmoud Al-Qattan, from College of Science at Kuwait University, won the gold medal and first place in shot put, in addition to the victory of Kuwait University football teams in their first games.
