Women’s Research & Studies Center at the College of Social Sciences at Kuwait University discussed the draft law and policy report on the issue of violence against women and the services provided to women survivors of violence with representatives of civil society organizations and government agencies in the United Nations House, in the presence of representatives of the UN Commission for the Empowerment of Women And the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) within the framework of the project of supporting the State of Kuwait in the application of the fifth sustainable development objective on women's empowerment and gender equality. This program comes in cooperation between the Center for Women's Research and Studies at the College of Social Sciences in Kuwait University and the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, in coordination with the United Nations Development Program and the United Nations Commission for the Empowerment of Women.
The discussion included study methodology in addition to the relevant analytical and legal frameworks. The attendees proposed several adjustments and additions to the report, along with several recommendations, including an initial survey of services provided to women survivors of violence.
