Under the patronage and attendance of HH Crown Prince Shaikh Nawaf AlAhmad AlSabah, Kuwait University held its 47th graduation ceremony for the academic 2016/2017 yesterday at the Stadium located in Shuwaikh campus.
The Crown Prince arrived to the venue a 6:30 pm and was welcomed by welcoming committee headed by the Minister of Education Prof. Hamed AlAzmi, KU’s President Prof. Hussain AlAnsari, and Secretary General Dr. Muthana AlRifae. The ceremony started with the national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur’an. Then the Crown Prince gave his speech and said: “it is a memorable day to our beautiful country, where we celebrate your success and graduation after a long path of diligence and dedication. I am happy to congratulate you all on my behalf and on HH Prince Sabah AlAhmad AlSabah’s behalf. Your time has come to carry the responsibility in serving our beloved Kuwait, may Allah helps us to a better and safer Kuwait”.
Then the Minister of Education gave his speech and said: “I am happy to welcome the Crown Prince to Kuwait University’s annual Graduation Ceremony and celebrating the graduation of its successful students, who are graduating from a leading academic institution. The University has been enlightening the progress of our country since its opening, by preparing and developing qualified citizens”.
The President of Kuwait University also gave his speech and said: “our joy and pride for the success of our alumni is great, especially with the presence of HH Crown Prince, who is warmly blessing and congratulating our graduates. You are the hope of tomorrow for our beloved country. I advise you to call for the best in speech, work, moderation, and respect different opinions”.
Valedictorian Nour AlBahar delivered her speech and said: “I am happy today to deliver our gratitude to the Crown Prince for his patronage and attendance. We stand here today in an unforgettable moment of our lives. We are here today to renew our promise to offer all the knowledge we acquired during our study to our beloved country and translate this love into action and determination. A love and loyalty message we send to our distinguished professors who supported and helped us, who were the key to education and knowledge. Thank you to our parents who were our biggest supporters and not giving up on us. Thank you for believing in us”.
Last, honoring the graduates started. It is worth mentioning that the number of graduates has reached to 7482. The College of Graduate Studies had 438 alumni. College of Pharmacy had 41 alumni. College of Dentistry had 43 alumni. College of Allied Health Science had 165 alumni. College of Medicine had 216 alumni. College of Science had 236 alumni. College of Engineering and Petroleum and College of Architecture had 835 alumni. College of Business Administration had 634 alumni. College of Social Science had 583 alumni. College of Education had 2017 alumni. College of Law had 538 alumni. College of Sharia and Islamic Studies had 1050 alumni. College of Art had 631 alumni. College of Life Science had 55 alumni.
