Engineering Training and Alumni Center at the College of Engineering and Petroleum inaugurated the 33rd Exhibition of Engineering Design Projects under the auspices of the Minister of State for Housing and the Minister of State for Services Dr. Jenan Bushehri and the presence of Engineer Bader Al-Wgayan, the Director General of the General Organization for Housing Care Engineer.
The exhibition was held under the supervision of the Head of the Center Dr. Bader Al-Basri and the support of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science.
The inauguration was attended by Prof. Hussein Al-Ansari, Vice President for Research Prof. Tahir Al-Sahhaf and Dean of College of Engineering and Petroleum Dr. Abdullateef Al-Khulaifi along with assistant Deans, heads of Academic departments, the Head of Scientific Culture Department at KFAS Dr. Salam Al-Ablani, Kuwait’s renowned specialists in the engineering field along with VIP’s. The exhibition was held from January 10-11, 2018 the Crown Plaza Hotel – Albarakh Farwaniya Hall.
Engineer Bader Al-Wagayan indicated that this year's exhibition includes 83 projects submitted by 333 students, praising the innovative and creative ideas presented by these elite engineering students.
Prof. Al-Ansari added that this exhibition is held annually at the end of each semester as to showcase students projects, emphasizing on the great role of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science in providing financial and moral support for the innovative minds
Prof. Al-Ansari pointed out that the aim of holding this exhibition is to measure Engineers abilities to work in addition to measuring the possibility of responsiveness to the labor market, as well as the emergence of distinguished projects that are highly qualified to acquire patent, and investing in Engineering Design Course to implement projects and develop cooperation and scientific discussion among the members of the team.
Head of Scientific Culture Department at KFAS Dr. Salam Al-Ablani stressed that the main aim of the exhibition is applying the scientific studies in original and creative projects. Kuwait foundation for the advancement of science has always supported this aim and sought to encourage technological and scientific developments. The foundation has supported the future engineer's ability to meet the future challenges through sponsoring inventors and providing the appropriate atmosphere and directing their scientific researches to serve this generous country.
