Under the patronage and attendance of Acting Vice President for Academic Support Services, Prof. Muhammad Ali Al-Mulla, Kuwait University, represented by the Office of Vice President for Academic Support Services, in cooperation with Microsoft, organized a workshop entitled "Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence in Learning" on Monday 18 November 2024 at the College of Life Sciences Theater - South Campus in Sabah Al-Salem University City, with the aim of enhancing the investment of artificial intelligence to serve the educational process in line with Kuwait Vision 2035, in order to provide the best services to students and faculty members. The workshop was held in the presence of Acting Assistant Vice President for Information Technology, Dr. Zainab Al-Bader, and a faculty member in the Department of Information Studies at the College of Social Sciences, Dr. Reham Al-Shaheen.
The event was attended by Mr. Nasser Al-Abduljalil, Director of Education Sector in Kuwait and the Middle East at Microsoft, Mr. Fadi Saab, Director of Commercial Solutions and Applications in the Middle East at Microsoft, and Mr. Johnny Karam, Regional Director of Artificial Intelligence at Microsoft in the Middle East.
At the onset, Acting Assistant Vice President for Information Technology, Dr. Zainab Munjed Al-Bader, confirmed that this workshop comes from the main directions of Kuwait University's strategic plan to achieve quality in the technical system supporting the educational process, through the continuous development of systems, access to best practices and exchange of information in the field of information technology, noting that educational institutions play an important role in the era of digital transformation, especially since technology has become an integral part of the educational process, as artificial intelligence can be used to improve the learning experience by customizing educational content according to students’ needs.
Al-Bader added that artificial intelligence contributes to expanding access to education and preparing students for a future that requires digital skills and the ability to adapt to advanced technology, noting that in light of the efforts of the Office of Assistant Vice President for Information Technology to keep pace with technological developments and adopt and implement technical projects at Kuwait University, cooperation with the educational sector at Microsoft came to hold this workshop.
In turn, the Director of the Education Sector in Kuwait and the Middle East at Microsoft, Mr. Nasser Al-Abduljalil, stated that Microsoft is a key partner for the country in general, and Kuwait University in particular, for more than twenty years of progress and prosperity, stressing that the partnership with Kuwait University represents a qualitative leap in developing the university education environment, as it relies on several Microsoft applications in daily educational and administrative operations, pointing out that through this workshop we will be able to learn more deeply about the modern technologies provided by Microsoft and how to invest them efficiently to serve students and faculty members, which contributes to achieving academic goals that serve the educational process.
Microsoft also presented a visual presentation by company representatives reflecting the extent of applying artificial intelligence technologies to develop the learning and teaching process, with how these technologies are invested to provide innovative solutions which contribute to improving the learning experience for both students and faculty members, through scientific examples and real-life experiments. 
The workshop included rich sessions led by experts specializing in artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
