The second edition of the Kuwait National Robotics Championship concluded with a collaborative effort between Kuwait University, the Ministry of Education, the Kuwait Youth Public Authority, and the private sector.

His Excellency the Minister of Information, Culture, and State Minister for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, affirmed the unlimited support provided by the Kuwaiti leadership, headed by His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect him, to empower Kuwaiti youth to become the pioneers of the future.
This was stated in a speech by Minister Al-Mutairi at the conclusion of the second edition of the Kuwait National Robotics Championship, organized by Kuwait University in collaboration with the Public Authority for Youth, the Kuwait Technical College, the Ministry of Education, and Warba Bank, with a strategic partnership from Zain Kuwait.
Minister Al-Mutairi pointed out that Kuwait today celebrates a new achievement added to the record of creativity and innovation by the ambitious youth of Kuwait in a championship that serves as a vital platform for honing skills and envisioning the future. He added that this championship proves that the future does not wait, but is being innovated, and that it represents a live laboratory where the power of knowledge is evident, confirming our commitment to promoting excellence and supporting promising minds.
He highlighted that all of this is happening with the unlimited support of His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect him, and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect him, in empowering Kuwaiti youth to become the pioneers of the future.
He praised the efforts made by the institutions, including the Ministry of Education, Kuwait University, the Public Authority for Youth, and many private sector entities participating in organizing this championship and supporting Kuwaiti youth in innovation and excellence, considering this collaboration a successful global model for integration between government and private sectors to drive innovation and entrepreneurship.
For her part, Kuwait University President, Professor Dina M. Al-Mailem, stated in her speech that this championship comes as part of Kuwait University’s strategic plan to achieve Kuwait Vision 2035, which focuses on enhancing the capabilities of citizens and institutions at a time when the world is witnessing a rapid digital transformation driven by artificial intelligence and robotics.
Dr. Al-Mailem emphasized Kuwait University’s ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and scientific excellence and supporting competitions related to artificial intelligence, opening new horizons for students to contribute to solving future technological challenges.
She also highlighted the significant support provided by the government for this championship, reflecting the great interest of the high leadership in enhancing the knowledge of participating students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) concepts, preparing them for future career paths that will enable them to face the challenges of the technological revolution through joint collaboration between the country’s educational institutions.
It is worth noting that the second edition of the Kuwait National Robotics Championship was initiated by the Department of Computer Science at the College of Sciences and launched with the participation of over 800 students from primary school category, intermediate school category, high school category and university and college category, forming 170 teams competing in four competitions: SeaPerch (underwater robots), drones, innovation competition, and the main competition (VEX).
The following teams qualified for the VEX Robotics World Championship in the United States this year:
Primary Stage:
•    (Superheroes) team from Al-Adailiya Primary School
Middle Stage:
•    (ABS Team A) from the American Baccalaureate School
•    KIES Legends from the Kuwait International English School
•    Kuwait1 from the Information Technology Association
High School Stage:
•    Robotech from Salah Al-Din School
•    Faltech from the Women’s Cultural Society
•    KIES Leaders Team from the Kuwait International English School
University Stage:
•    AUM1 team from the American University of the Middle East
•    KTECH1 team from Kuwait Technical College
