The College of Engineering and Petroleum launched the second season of its training program for engineers and engineering contract management on September 10, 2024, under the supervision and sponsorship of the Youth Public Authority. The program will run for seven weeks, concluding on October 24, 2024. The course covers various stages of the development project lifecycle, including the pre-design phase, design phase, tendering and awarding phase, execution phase, and post-execution phase.
The program has seen significant interest from Kuwaiti youth, with over 500 individuals applying for registration. A total of 50 trainees were selected from various engineering disciplines and some administrative fields. The participation of Kuwaiti youth includes students from Kuwait University, universities in the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as private universities in Kuwait, all eager to specialize in engineering and engineering contract management. The program provides several job opportunities for the Kuwaiti youth participating in it.
The program includes field visits to several major development projects being implemented in Kuwait and concludes with an exam that qualifies the trainees to work as certified contract engineers from the College of Engineering and Petroleum.
