Prof. Igor Lednev of the University of Albany, State University of New York, interviewed Executive Editor Jerome Workman of the Journal of Spectroscopy about the latest developments n vibrational spectroscopy of body fluids for forensic purposes. The interview, which specifically discussed "The Future of Forensic Analysis", featured a successful collaboration with Dr. Intisar Al-Hattlani of Kuwait University on detecting saliva samples on various surfaces. This collaboration was funded by Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences to study the detection of traces of body fluids using chemical methods without affecting sample quality. This research was featured on the cover of ACS Omega and was co-written and conducted by Prof. Dalal Ibrahim Al-Sharji, who holds a master's degree in forensic sciences, and Dr. Mohammad Othman Amin, who holds a PhD from the Department of Chemistry.
It should be noted that the Journal of Spectroscopy is a publication that covers various aspects of spectroscopy and analytical chemistry. The site includes articles, product reviews, news, and educational resources related to spectroscopy techniques, their applications, and innovation in the field. It is a valuable resource for professionals, researchers, and students involved in analytical chemistry, providing insights int other latest developments, technologies, and methods in spectroscopy.
