Kuwait University Initiates the Annual Winter Vaccinations Campaign for the Third Year in a Row
Kuwait University has launched the annual Winter Vaccinations campaign for the third year in s a row as part of the services provided by the Security and Safety Department within the framework of providing a sustainable healthy environment for university affiliates, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.
In this regard, Acting Secretary General of Kuwait University, Prof. Fayez Al-Dhafiri, indicated that in light of the continuous coordination between Kuwait University, represented by thee Security and Safety Department, and the Ministry of Health, according to the agreed protocol regarding opening a communication channel to enhance community partnership in all areas that would contribute to spreading health awareness among the university community, and maintaining the public safety of university affiliates, preparation have been made regarding launching the Winter Vaccinations campaign for the third year in a row at Kuwait University prior to the winter season to protect all university affiliates (especially students) from contracting winter respiratory diseases in order to reduce the rates of infection of winter diseases (influenza and pneumonia), and limit the complications of those diseases, especially among groups with risk factors.
For his part, Acting Assistant Secretary General for Facilities Management Affairs, Mr. Mohammad Saud Al-Suleiman, confirmed that the main target group of the campaign is the student body in particular, and all university members and visitors in general, indication that all measures will be taken to ensure the success of the forementioned campaign, with the objective of reaching the largest number of university affiliates by providing vaccines in university clinics distributed in university colleges at intervals, in coordination and cooperation with specialists from the Ministry of Health.
Director of Security and Safety Department, Mr. Yousef Yaqoub Al-Khamis, added that the security and Safety Department has completed all the necessary preparations, arrangements and administrative and security procedures during the activities of the forementioned campaign in its third consecutive year at the university, in coordination and cooperation with the university's work centers to provide what is deemed necessary to ensure the success of the campaign by providing designated areas all around university colleges during throughput the campaign period.
Al-Khamis pointed out that several locations were allocated in university clinics distributed across various university colleges to receive anyone wishing to get the vaccinations and meet the needs of university affiliates.
It is worth noting that vaccinations are available to everyone, especially to those most vulnerable to winter respiratory diseases, and to all members and visitors, to prevent several diseases and viruses (influenza and pneumonia among other diseases). And is highly effective in preventing the disease and its complications.
Kuwait University calls on all university affiliates to receive vaccines to ensure public health and safety. It also calls on all its students and employees to promptly visit university clinics to receive vaccinations against contagious winter diseases to protect individuals from the dangers of these diseases, wishing everyone an academic year full of security, safety and health for all affiliates, to ensure their success in their educational journey.
