The graduates of the College of Architecture, Nour Al-Khadir and Ghada Al-Alyan, participated in "The International Federation of Landscape Architects" conference by presenting their scientific posters to academic and professional officials from around the world and from different countries. The conference was held in Istanbul, Turkey, during the period from September 4 to September 6, 2024, in the presence of College of Architecture Faculty Member Dr. Reem Al-Eisa, and with the support of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, being a representative of the State of Kuwait at the conference, where she participated with scientific research in accordance with the topic of the conference. The Research was prepared by her in cooperation with her colleagues in the College of Architecture, Dr. Dalal Al-Sayer and Dr. Weaam Al-Abdullah.
The participation comes in light of the keenness of the College of Architecture at Kuwait University to engage its graduates in the practical aspect and link it to the scientific aspect that they received while studying the scientific courses, which in turn refined their knowledge and concepts towards the surrounding environment and adapt the architectural and environmental program to current and future climate changes.
The projects of the two graduates of the College of Architecture were accepted for presentation as scientific posters due to their importance to natural ecosystems and their alignment with the conference content. The first project, presented by graduate Ghada Al-Alyan, entitled "Beyond the Waters", aimed to explore the flooding issues affecting the residential area of Sabah Al-Ahmad in Kuwait. The project proposes a distinctive architectural design to mitigate and collect flood and rainwater in the program, using nature-based solutions to serve the architectural program.
Graduate Nour Al-Khadir's second project, entitled "Industrial Balance", which focused on transforming an old industrial site suffering from high human impacts and environmental damage, with the aim of restoring the capacity of affected non-human entities, and adapting the architectural and environmental program to the current and future environmental changes of the site.
The  College of Architecture at Kuwait University expresses its pride in its administrative staff, students, and graduates  who are involved in the labor market and their distinguished academic and practical skills, the foundations of which were established by the efforts of the college's faculty members, who had a great impact in encouraging students and graduates to complete the journey of success, progress, and scientific and professional development and to participate in international conferences.
