As part of its ongoing efforts to support new students and prepare them for the start of their academic journey, the Deanship of Student Affairs at Kuwait University organized the annual orientation forum titled "Start Your Journey with Awareness" on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. The event took place at the Conference Center in Sabah Al-Salem University City, organized by the Administration of Academic Advising within the Deanship of Student Affairs.
During the forum, which was attended by a large and engaged group of students and their parents, all the information needed to prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of university life was provided. This was achieved through a detailed presentation by the Administration of Academic Advising.
In his opening speech, Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Jassim Al-Hamdan, said, "Dear students, as you embark on your university journey, you will find countless opportunities for growth, learning, and development, not only academically but also in terms of building your character and relationships." Prof. Al-Hamdan added, "Always be a role model in your commitment and respect for others. Treat your peers and professors as you would like to be treated. Remember that the ethics and values you cultivate at this stage will accompany you throughout your life."
The forum was accompanied by an exhibition that provided detailed information about academic programs and student services at the university. Various departments and colleges participated, including the College of Social Sciences, the College of Medicine, and the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies. In addition to the participation of numerous administrations, such as the E-Learning System and the Khawarizmi Center, as well as academic clubs like the Chemical Engineering Club and the Youth Leadership Club.
In conclusion, students and their parents undertook campus tours where detailed explanations were provided about available academic opportunities and student activities. University IDs were also issued to the new students.
