Kuwait University Extends its Agreement with Kuwait Oil Company

In affirmation of Kuwait University's local and global academic stature and to highlight its prestigious academic identity, the agreement between Kuwait University and Kuwait Oil Company has been extended. The signing ceremony was attended by Acting President of Kuwait University; Prof. Nawaf Al-Mutairi, Acting Vice President for Research Affairs; Dr. Nasser Faisal Al-Tannak; Assistant Vice President for External Research Collaboration and Consultation; Dr. Noriah Mohammed Al-Kandari; Assistant Vice President for Research Finance and Implementation; Dr. Haneen Shafiq Al-Ghabra; Dean of the College of Engineering and Petroleum, Prof. Khalid Al-Hazza; Assistant Secretary General for Facilities Affairs, Mohammed Al-Sulaiman. Representing Kuwait Oil Company at the signing was Group Manager of Innovation and Technology; Mr. Hamad Al-Zaabi, Head of Research and Development Programs Team; Mr. Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Senior Research Programs Engineer; Ms. Mariam Al-Foudari.

Acting President of Kuwait University, Prof. Nawaf Al-Mutairi, warmly welcomed Kuwait Oil Company as partners in the journey of research, innovation, and development. He affirmed that Kuwait Oil Company has been and continues to be one of the prominent partners in scientific and research cooperation. Over the years, this collaboration has strengthened the resources of both parties and facilitated the exchange of scientific and research expertise, leading to outstanding research outcomes. He expressed his wishes for further success in research and oil sectors across various areas that contribute to the development and dissemination of scientific research.

Mr. Hamad Al-Zaabi, Group Manager of Innovation and Technology at Kuwait Oil Company, highlighted that the research cooperation agreement between Kuwait University and Kuwait Oil Company was initially signed in 2019 for a five-year duration. During this period, it facilitated funding for six research projects. He emphasized that today's meeting aims to reaffirm the ties of scientific and research cooperation and partnership between the two entities. There is a commitment to extend the agreement for an additional two years to maximize the benefit for both institutions in the fields of research, development, and scientific innovation.
