Kuwait University has made remarkable progress in the latest QS World University Rankings 2025, which was announced during a conference held in Washington on June 4, 2024, as Kuwait University’s ranking rose to 801-850 in the world out of 5,663 universities. This progress reflects Kuwait University's firm commitment to improving the quality of scientific research and the continuous development of its academic programs, as well as emphasizing its presence locally and globally.
As the largest public university that provides the Kuwaiti youth with a variety of science specializations, from humanities and social sciences to engineering, health and medical sciences, Kuwait University is proud to produce distinguished cadres of competent graduates that meet the needs of the labor market and contribute to the development of society and the national economy.
On this occasion, Acting President of Kuwait University Professor Nawaf Al-Mutairi said: “Based on our university’s strategic plan and our commitment to implementing operational initiatives and performance monitoring, we strive for excellence and more achievements that reflect our goals and ambitions. We conduct continuous evaluations and improvements in all areas related to the pillars of our four strategies: quality, innovation, sustainability, and presence, which reflects positively on the university’s ranking.”
Acting Secretary General of Kuwait University and the official spokesperson for the university Professor Fayez Al-Dhafiri affirmed the university’s commitment to excellence in both the academic and administrative fields as it continues its path towards growth and positive impact and fulfilling the labor market's needs. He concluded that this progression in the international rankings is a testimony to the success of Kuwait University and its growth in the global academic area.
The QS World University Ranking is an annual publication by the Quacquarelli Symonds Foundation concerned with evaluating higher education institutions based on a variety of factors which include academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per faculty, faculty/student ratio, international faculty ratio, and international student ratio.
