Under the patronage and presence of His Highness the Amir, Kuwait University hosted the inauguration ceremony of Sabah Al-Salem University City and the honoring of its top graduates
Under the patronage and presence of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the inauguration ceremony of Sabah Al-Salem University City was held this morning, as well as the ceremony to honor the top outstanding graduates of the academic years 2018/2019 - 2019/2020 - 2020/2021. The ceremony was held in Al-Danah Hall in Sabah Al-Salem University City.

The convoy of His Highness arrived at the ceremony site, where he was warmly received by the Minister of Education, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Adel Muhammad Al-Adwani, the Acting President of Kuwait University Dr. Nawaf Al-Nahedh Al-Mutairi, and senior university officials.

His Highness the Amir unveiled the mural marking the opening of Sabah Al-Salem University City.The ceremony was witnessed by His Excellency the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, President of the Supreme Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation, Counselor Dr. Adel Majid Bouresli, senior state officials, and a large gathering of families of graduate students and citizens.

The ceremony began with the national anthem and the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Then the Minister of Education, the Minister of Higher Education, and the Supreme President of the University delivered a welcoming speech, in which he emphasized the importance of the event which represents a response to the directives of His Highness the Amir on the importance of developing higher education institutions and taking confident strides towards achieving its ambitions and realizing the vision of New Kuwait. He addressed the graduates at the ceremony as "the nation's wealth and its true investment" and commended their effort and diligence, calling upon them to bear responsibility in further advancing Kuwait's plans of development.

Afterwards, the President of Kuwait University gave a speech as well, in which he welcomed His Highness the Amir at Sabah Al-Salem University City, which represents the result of the tireless efforts made over many years out of belief of the important role played by universities to achieve the strategic and developmental plans of the country, as the inauguration of Sabah Al-Salem University City is a leap towards improving the educational process in Kuwait. In the conclusion of his speech, he extended his appreciation to all former presidents of Kuwait University for their hard work and effort dedicated to the completion of the university city project, as well as the employees who worked on the construction program for their fruitful efforts. The President congratulated the graduates on their success, "You are the beacon and crown of our dear country".

Graduate Sheikh Bader Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah delivered a speech on behalf of the outstanding graduates, where he expressed his overwhelming happiness in the presence of His Highness the Amir.

A documentary film titled Sabah Al-Salem University City, Kuwait University, Excellence and Distinction" was previewed, after that High Highness the Amir honored the graduating students and a souvenir was presented to His Highness.

His Highness left the ceremony with the same warmth and appreciation he was received with.
