
The Faculty of Medicine concluded the activities of the 29th Annual Scientific Poster Conference, held over the course of two days at the Medical Sciences Center Auditorium in Jabriya. The event was held under the patronage of the President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dina Al-Mailem and attended by Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Adnan Abul, along with the deans of the Medical Sciences Center faculties, members of the academic staff, and students from the Center, which includes the Faculties of Medicine, Allied Health Sciences, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Public Health, in addition to physicians from within and outside the State of Kuwait.
Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Hiba Al-Husseini, stated that the conference featured several scientific sessions and lectures, most notably a presentation by Prof. Frank Winkler, Professor at the Neurological University Hospital in Heidelberg, and a working group leader in the Clinical Cooperation Unit Neuro-oncology at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). Dr. Al-Husseini explained that a total of 180 research presentations were submitted and showcased this year, including 151 original research papers covering various medical topics, and 29 case reports.
She noted that the conference reflects a spirit of collaboration among researchers and fosters the exchange of ideas, experiences, and fruitful discussions—elements that drive further achievements in the medical and health sciences. She emphasized that the impact of these research efforts extends beyond the scope of the conference, directly influencing the lives of individuals and communities to whom healthcare services are provided.
Dr. Al-Husseini highlighted that the Medical Sciences Center at Kuwait University has become a hub for intellectual and research innovation in the fields of medicine and health sciences, both locally and regionally. In closing, she extended her sincere appreciation to the President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailem, as well as to all attendees, participants, the scientific committee, and everyone who contributed to the success of this conference.
